Message I was thinking about the O-ring on the plunger and how it could wear over time and was going to include that as a possibility in my post but I forgot. I did put it in the write-up I was working on.

I really don't think the O-ring around the crimp is part of the problem. The coil solenoids in my injectors were very tight to the metal sides. When I broke them away from the metal they were completely dry on both surfaces. The O-ring on the metal solenoid plunger is supposed to keep the fuel from getting past the plunger. I think this O-ring will wear over time and cause fuel to leak past it into the top part of the injector as you said. It may also be that ethanol is more easy to get past this O-ring than fuel. Either way, fuel, ethanol or both, I agree with you that it is coming from the injector. Thanks for your input.
